We are offering a number of research scholarships in various areas, including oncology, neurology, breast cancer and innovation. These awards are for 6 weeks of full-time research.
The application deadline for all awards is has passed.
A total of 11 scholarships will be awarded.
Students will be notified of award decisions no later than March 19, 2016.

Two scholarships are in pre-selected laboratories, outlined below:
Oncology research in the laboratory of Dr. Andre Bachmann of the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development
The oncology scholarship is funded by the Helen and Verne Beilfuss Endowment, the Ruth A. McIlnay Trust Fund and the Barbara J. Guthrie/Gale Sanborn Endowment Fund
Breast Cancer research in the laboratory of Chengfeng Yang of the Department of Physiology
Dr. Yang's research is outlined at his website - https://physiology.natsci.msu.edu/directory/faculty/chengfeng-yang-m-d-ph-d/. Dr. Yang's laboratory is in East Lansing, however students from any campus are welcome to apply. One student will be selected for this award.
The Breast Cancer research scholarship is funded by the Maureen K. Burrill Memorial Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
OPEN SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The remaining scholarship awards require students to identify a research mentor and prepare a research proposal and plan.

These open scholarship awards are:
Oncology Scholarships - Three (3) students will be selected to receive this award for research related to cancer.
The oncology scholarships are funded by the Helen and Verne Beilfuss Endowment, the Ruth A. McIlnay Trust Fund and the Barbara J. Guthrie/Gale Sanborn Endowment Fund
Neurology Scholarships - Two (2) students will be selected to receive this award for research into neurology or neurosciences.
The neurology scholarships are two separate awards, one funded by the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) Dean's Choice Grant Award and one funded by the Keenan Joseph Marshall Endowed Research Fund
Innovation Scholarships - Four (4) students will be selected to receive this award for innovative research in any field.
The Innovation scholarships are funded by the CHM Endowed Fund for Innovation
