2019 MSU-CHM Office of Research Research Scholarships

 

The MSU-CHM Office of Research is offering a number of research scholarships in various areas, including oncology, neurology, breast cancer and innovation.  These awards are for CHM students in good standing.  

The application deadline for all awards is Sunday, March 3, 2019 at 11:59pm. 

A total of 11 awards will be given.

OPEN SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

These scholarship awards require students to have identified a research mentor and prepare a research proposal and plan as well as a Presentation/Publication plan.

These open scholarship awards are:

Oncology Scholarships - Four (4) students will be selected to receive this award for research related to cancer.   The oncology scholarships are funded by the Helen and Verne Beilfuss Endowment and the Barbara J. Guthrie/Gale Sanborn Endowment Fund

Breast Cancer Scholarship  - One (1) student will be selected to receive this award for research into breast cancer. The Breast Cancer research scholarship is funded by the Maureen K. Burrill Memorial Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

Neurology Scholarship - Two (2) students will be selected to receive this award for research into neurology or neurosciences.  The neurology scholarships are two separate awards, one funded by the Keenan Joseph Marshall Endowed Research Fund, the other funded by the MSUFCU Dean's Choice Grant Award.

Innovation Scholarships - Four (4) students will be selected to receive this award for innovative research in any field.   The Innovation scholarships are funded by the CHM Endowed Fund for Innovation

2016 Winners of Year-off Oncology Research Scholarships

Winners for the 2016-2017 Year-off Oncology Research Scholarships have been determined

Congratulations to Gerald Lilly, awarded a year-off oncology research scholarship in the laboratory of Dr. John Risinger of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology in Grand Rapids, MI.   This award is for 12 months of full-time research in Dr. Risinger's lab studying gynecological cancer.  

and

Congratulations to Emi Bulica, awarded a year-off oncology research scholarship in the laboratory of Ghassan Saed of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wayne State University.  This award is for 12 months of full-time research in Dr. Saed's laboratory studying ovarian cancer.
